The Barcelona tramway is the tramway network for the city of Barcelona in Spain. The tram system is operated by the Tramvia Metropolita.

The tramway started in 1872, with a horsecar service. Electric trams were introduced in 1900.


The Barcelona tram network is operated by 56 trams and comprises 6 tram lines, with a total line length of approximately 29.2 km km (18.144 mi).

The Barcelona tramway carries over 28 million passengers per year.
