The Barcelona Zoo is a scientific zoo, located inside the Park de la Ciutadella in Barcelona, Spain.

It was opened in 1892. The zoo covers about 13 hectares (32 acres), it is home to over 5,500 animals representing more than 400 species.



The zoo has several components: in addition to the fauna of mammals, amphibians and reptiles, the exhibition areas also show the flora from the homes of the animals.

The Barcelona Zoo is an accredited member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

1 January – 18 March: 10 am to 5:30 pm
19 March – 15 May: 10 am to 7 pm
16 May – 15 September: 10 am to 8 pm
16 September – 29 October: 10 am to 7 pm
30 October – 31 December: 10 am to 5:30 pm
December 25th, open 10 am until 2 pm

Adults: 19,90€
Children (between 3 and 12 years old): 11,95€
Seniors over 65 years old: 10,05€
Children (less than 3 years old): free entry
