Poland, Bialystok Branicki Palace

The Branicki Palace, also known as the “Polish Versailles” or “Ver­sa­il­les of the Nor­th”,is a historic palace in Bialystok, Poland.



The palace was built between 1691 and 1752, in the style of the Late Baroque by three architects: Tylman van Gameren (1632–1706), Jan Zygmunt Deybel (1685-90–1752) and Jakub Fontana (1710–1773).

The Branicki Palace was destroyed in 1944; rebuilt in 1946–1960. Nowadays, the historic building housed the Medical University of Bialystok.

    It is a beautiful structure. I love the architectural style with the domes, statues, pillars and arches. So majestic!

  15. 1944 was indeed a dark year for this country. I am glad that this beautiful place was reconstructed after a couple of years. I hope to visit Poland someday.
