The Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also called Bialystok Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral, located in Bialystok, Poland.

The cathedral was built between 1900 and 1905, in the style of the Neo-Gothic by the Polish architect Józef Pius Dziekoński (18441927).




It was ceremonially consecrated in 1905. The two towers are about 72 m (237 ft) high.

It is the main church of the Archdiocese of Bialystok and acquired the status of basílica in 1985 by decision of Pope John Paul II (1920–2005).

  10. When I was last in Ireland, I was able to explore many of their historic churches. So gorgeous! The church in Poland rivals the ones I've seen in beauty. Hope to see it in person some day.

  11. How beautiful and majestic the Cathedral Basilica of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary is! There seems to be many more religious sites in Poland than I realized. I've been have a big history interest as of late.
