The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is a garden, located in Budapest, Hungary. It is the oldest zoo park in Hungary and one of the oldest in the world.

The zoo was opened in 1866.


It covers about 18.4 hectares (45 acres), it is home to over 10354 animals representing more than 1072 species; it also maintains a large number of invertebrates.

The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is an accredited member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The garden has 1–1.1 million visitors every year.
